“BHSSC has been instrumental in helping us improve student outcomes...by the end of our data retreat each principal was wanting more. They found the information BHSSC gathered to be relevant and informative, allowing them to plan for next steps in a focused and meaningful way. We started our journey with three elementary schools and each of those schools ended up earning "EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS" on our state accountability report - which is the highest mark you can earn. This solidified our belief in BHSSC. We are excited to see the great things we know will come with this work. BHSSC is one of the best groups we've ever worked with; they are so attentive to the individual needs of each school. I truly feel they are a part of our#1 team. Love working with them.”
We’ve been working with BHSSC for a few years now and that’s for a reason! Their proactive way of working with our district, schools, and individual teams has been very beneficial for our staff and students. BHSSC has given our teams the guidance and tools that support academic achievement. The focus of their work is student-oriented and goal driven. They have provided teams the opportunity to dive deep into student data and reflect on the needs of students we service. This mindset has allowed us to ensure our quality of work is geared toward student success. I have great respect, admiration, and devotion for the entire staff at BHSSC. Their team is very positive even through tough conversations. The quality of professionalism and support provided by BHSSC cannot be overstated! We are very lucky to work with them and will continue to utilize their expertise and support.”
“I've often wanted to "go deeper" into our models of service provision, student outcomes, school culture/climate, staff roles, and effectiveness and efficiencies of our special education programs. I enlisted the team from BHSSC to engage in a comprehensive assessment of our special education programs. I soon realized that it would be best for our district to look at things from a more global perspective. We selected 3 elementary schools to pilot the project. The positive and productive work that BHSSC did with these schools over the course of 1 year, in my professional opinion, led to struggling schools becoming good examples of "turnaround schools" moving back to the top of the pack in the district. Needless to say, BHSCC is working with ALL schools in our district this year!”
Uinta County School District Number One is grateful for the collaborative work that has come from working with BHSSC. The BHSSC team is responsive to the unique needs of not only our district but our individual buildings. Our Special and General Education teams greatly benefited from the data collection tools that BHSSC customized based on our identified needs. Our teams came away from our Data Retreat with synthesized data and an action plan on how to move forward. Providing effective tiers of instructional support is difficult, then add in the challenges that students face with IDEA disabilities and the task of providing FAPE is daunting. BHSSC helped our district recognize critically relevant data points, unpack them, and then make ongoing qualitative and quantitative data-informed decisions. It is a pleasure to work with BHSSC.”
“In January 2021 I became the elementary school principal, and it was evident the school did not trust the district, me, or each other. I was incredibly nervous about the surveys and the classroom observations; however, it was reassuring when the staff at BHSSC were alarmed by the same issues within the building. At the data team meeting, I asked a diverse set of individuals to attend the meeting. The team left the meeting united and with a plan! We invited the staff of BHSSC to speak to our entire school. Individuals left crying because our school was finally taking action! BHSSC organized other professional development for our staff to increase our sense of community and trust within the school. In January 0f 2022, our sense of community was 26%. By September of 2022, our sense of community had increased to 62%. We still have work to do but we are on our way!”
“The approach which BHSSC took with the data analysis allowed for self-discovery and awareness from each of our building level teams regarding their various performances and perceptions. This led to a purpose for the work that wasn't initiated from district level administration; hence, the staff was on board, engaged and the outcomes were meaningful. Having building level teams own the data resulted in the development of achievable goals and action steps that have already been implemented and are initiating change throughout the district. The multiple visits throughout the school year ensured that the work was sustained and that the action steps were followed through with. This level of support has been instrumental in the continuous improvement goals that our district aims to achieve for our students with disabilities.”
